The Affordable Housing Scheme makes local homes available at a reduced price for first-time buyers and Fresh Start applicants, whose combined mortgage and deposit will not cover the market price of a newly built home.
Through the scheme, Wicklow County Council takes a percentage equity stake (share of the ownership) in the home equal to the difference between the open market value of the property and the reduced price paid by the purchaser.

The Portal will be open to accept applications from 10th June 2024 at 12 noon until the 22nd July 2024. Applications will not be accepted outside of this period.
Please ensure you read the FAQ's which will advise of all documentation that will be required for your application and also will explain how the Affordable Housing Scheme works. Your application cannot be assessed if we do not receive all the required documentation/information. As the scheme works on a first come basis your application can’t be given a time and ranking until all documentation is received.
